  This is a photo I snapped when I was strolling along the pavement of  'The Hollywood Walk of Fame' in USA. As I walked down the street spotting familiar names once in every few steps, I was pretty surprised to find Donald Duck's footprints imprinted onto the hard cold pavement. To start off with, Donald Duck isn't even the main character, Mickey Mouse is (though I did spot Mickey's footprints not far away.). At this rate, I'm sure the next most popular program show in USA would feature all their cast's hand/footprints onto the ground.

  Maybe Donald's footprints were imprinted because of his trademark feet in the show, where people would recognize even without his name written anywhere near. Or maybe we are all blinded by fame? In the real world, many people take advantage of one another to get to the topmost so that whatever they do get recognized worldwide. Maybe it 's because of this reason that people are getting more greedier with each passing day. This was what struck me as I stopped my tracks right there and then to ponder over the situation. There can't just be a whole never-ending pavement for the growing population in stardom, right?

Taking pictures or writing in a diary helps to store memories since it is easier for someone to recall memorable events that happened in the past. Although the memories are old,however,as someone constantly looking through the pictures or read their written diary entries,the memories undoubtedly remain fresh and of course,unforgettable.

These three snapshots of National Museum of Singapore were taken during Singapore Nights Festival. I was strolling around with my friends when suddenly there was something far across that caught my attention. 

Can you imagine... when the elegant white façade of National Museum of Singapore turned into a screen of colourful animation?! 
Yes, those entire white walls were FULL OF FISH! 

The fish animation was so smooth that it seemed like perfectly fused and became one with the walls. Cute fish were swimming back and forth, exploring the entire walls like it was really their habitat. I was so amused because that was my first time seeing such cute and creative animation being projected to a building. 

Initially, I really thought that walls with white colour are really boring. However, now I think that having white walls might be advantageous. At least, we all got a new type of canvas to exhibit our talent and creativity! (not to say to write or carve on it though! ;))

Every Second Counts

This is a video which I took during this rainy days in Singapore.

In rainy day, people usually tend to be lazy to do everything especially going out from home and prefer to sleep or wasting time at home. As you can see on this video, every second, minute, hour counts. The raindrops make a plenty of impacts every second which you can relate to human life in this world. Every second there are a lot people fail or success on the entire of the world. You can choose whether to be successful or be failure, everything you do each second decide how your future will be. Even these day are rainy days, you should not waste your time just to wait the rain stop, use every second in your live to do good things that can benefit your life and others.

Paper Cranes

This is a photo which I took a week ago in the Duty Free Store shopping centre. It is an artwork that consists of a thousand of white and red paper cranes that is hanging from the ceiling. It was very neatly arranged above the wooden base. I was really amazed when I first saw this artwork. Traditional people believe that the 1000 crane must be completed between one year and they all must be made by one person will be granted a wish at the end. It was a really nice piece of an artwork.

Donuts are Donuts

October 12 2013, marks a really special day for those crazy donuts lovers out there in Singapore. Krispy Kreme finally decides to make an appearance. I love donuts. But I'm not as crazy as the 12-year-old girl who won a six-month supply of free glazed doughnuts just because she was second in line during the opening. Like come on, it's Friday.She should be in school.But no, she decided to do something more important.

If you are wondering, I have actually eaten and tasted krispy kreme donuts way before it came to Singapore. I'd say they taste like how most donuts taste like. Donuts are donuts. So why are Singaporeans nuts over Krispy Kreme donuts?

This coin , it has a value . i got no idea why people would not want to take it ,one of the reason might be because of it small value it carries . In the past , people would make it manually than by machines . It is a form of art to me. It sort of sadden me that people wouldn't take my 5cents, like the other day , when i bought water and it costed 70cents and i did not have 20cents so i filled it up with four 5cents and the aunty said " i only take two 5cents ". i was so upset . hey, 5 cents has it value too . Appreciate . It did not happen once but 3times in a row during the past week. From this i can say that a little talent is also a talent.

Abandoned Hostel

I went to an abandoned hostel with my cousin and a friend to try out our photography skills, photography these days are quite popular. The place was quite big and run down, I assume the land owner choose to leave the place the way it is because he wants to allow people to use this place for photography. Usually when places are abandoned, they toilet bowls and wardrobes would be removed, but it was just left in there untouched except for the fact that the furnitures in there are fall apart because they are all too old. I'll probably go back there again to find new photography spots.

F1 Night Race

It was the second day of the F1 Night Race and my mother's friend kindly gave my family tickets to MBS SkyPark for the F1 SkyPark Party. Once we arrived at MBS, the hotel staff were polite and even ushered us as we were unfamiliar with the area. While walking, I noticed the decorations and detailed architecture of the hotel were breathtaking as every minor design added and revealed a different emotion shown by the artist through their art work, yet achieved the homely feeling that welcomed every guest that stepped through their doors. As an landscape and architecture student, I admired their work because I know the difficulties, thoughts and time put through to eventually arrived at their once rough sketched paper dream.

As we went up to the 57th floor, my heart pounded, air pressure lowered, and ding goes the lift. We took a family portrait together as a souvenir and the party was great. The amazing view from the 57th floor summarized the entire Marina/CBD area of Singapore. The night lights, the roar of the F1 cars engines and helicopters flying right above our heads contributed to the mood of the event. There was even buffet and drinks served with special guests invited to entertained us right before the real event starts. As I walked and looked around, I realized how beautiful and well-developed Singapore is and how fortunate I was to be living here. The event lasted for about 2 hours plus and even though it was "fun", it was pretty boring as well watching the cars driving about in circles... So midway I went to the infinity pool to take a look. To summarize, it was a great experience but I might not want to go there again haha.

"Scatter!"

"Sometimes we wonder how big the universe is. For convenience sake, our intelligence kept us thinking the tiniest of matter which our own morals and wisdom neglects the simplicity of life. Such Irony, I jest- even the tiniest of ants would rather not question existence but rather struggle for survival. It must be fun if there were no boundaries between ideals, just cohesion!" 

 

This short video was taken out of contemplation and induced fun years back. Works behind this video was inspired mainly by music and emotions flowing during the set whereby contemplation came about how much we worry too much and simply be stuck into despair.

 

Visually, the clip shows an army of ants scattering and most of them struggles to scavenge a larger insect back to their nests.

 

The music reflects upon the human capricious minds when envy struck upon an inferior being as such. Having the specific music embedded, its purpose is to guide the viewer into certain mood of 'quirky' contemplation about simples of life. Having to choose a playful music by Lenka, who composed this song expresses a mellow mood towards thoughts in turn, a random and a laid-back contemplation.

This photo was taken on the train when I was travelling home after school. As I entered the train, this old man immediately caught my attention. With a plier and a tin can in his hands, he bent and twisted the can into an intricate art piece. The man was so engrossed in his work that he was oblivious to the many pair of eyes staring at him in awe. 

I believe that passion is one of the most important element in life. Everyone of us is bound to have a passion for something. Some have found it while others might only discover when their hairs have turned grey. But no matter what happens, hold on to your passion and develop it to your best ability. 

Because it is what keeps us alive.

I took this photo when I was waiting the traffic light. I saw this man from the side mirror and he was walking, but only with one leg. I am very admire this guy because he didn't give up and didn't rely on anyone. Maybe he is disability, but he is not giving up everything.
He is normal, just like us. And we shouldn't judge him. Maybe he is different on the inside or somewhere else, doesn't mean he is not as same as somebody else.
I learnt a lot of things from him and I think you should too.

This is one of the butterfly shot that i took while visiting the Sentosa butterfly park.

Butterflies are some of the most beautiful creatures in our environment. They start out as little caterpillars that struggle to get through each day. As nature takes its course, caterpillars develop wings and become beautiful butterflies with the freedom to fly.

In life there are many ups and down, many obstacles that make us feel weak and want to give up on life. we must always be like the buterfly that try to struggle to live to became a beautiful butterfly. If we do not try to overcome the obstacle that is blocking our path, we will never get to archive our goal, we will never be what we want to be at the end of the road.

Overcoming the obstacle makes our mindset stronger, thus giving us stronger willpower to set a bigger goal. One's failure does not mean you will fail forever.

Have you think about any moments that you are really furious with someone who hurt your feeling?  Maybe, sometimes you will think about who is my enemy? and who is my biggest enemy?  Actually, your biggest enemy is yourself.  The only one who can beat and conquer your biggest enemy is yourself.  Almost everyday we always fight against ourselves; some simple examples, "should I buy this or not?", "Can I do it or not?", "Should I go or not?".  Some terrible examples is "I can't do it!" "I'm going fail this test!". and yes, after your negative mind conquer yourself, you're really a loser.  Our mind are often filled with doubt and fear so we need to overcome the doubt and fears until they couldn't conquer yourself and you can win your biggest enemy.

In this picture, I drew someone who are being terrorised by her own shadow.  It gave awareness about the biggest enemy.  The enemy isn't someone that you're really hates, but it's yourself.  So, by drew this I hope that people realised that we should conquer our inner.  We should fill our mind with positive thinking in order to beat the enemy.

Splat

Something i did during one of the classes in school, we were asked to create our own personal piece of work. The work we were asked to do was known to be Mark Making, and we were introduced to several different methods and ways to create our own piece of work. This work is interesting as everyone will come out with their own unique and different forms of work, and it is not easy to mimic or recreate a totally same kind of work. This part of work requires one to use materials and different medias with any technique to do, without having any rules to form it. For mine, it does look like a tree with the red dots around it, the dots may represent the leaves that are blown away by the wind.

Fear

It was taken in Little India, when I saw this cat from far back in the alley. It was walking towards me that somehow caught my attention. From this photo, I'm trying to show the fear in its eyes. Which can also relate to us human beings, where we fear to make decisions; we have doubts in our capabilities and we are afraid of failure. The bicycle at the back creates a depth of field, which makes the whole photo looks more interesting. 

Once On This Island Poster

Two years ago, my high school performed our own production of the Broadway musical 'Once on This Island' at Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jakarta. The show was a great success, and I made many unforgettable memories with my friends during both the preparations and the performance night.

'Once on This Island' is a story about a peasant girl who fell in love with a rich boy, a story about how love can conquer many hardships, even death. It is an adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen's 'The Little Mermaid' set in Haiti. While I personally thought that the storyline was a bit cliché, I enjoyed the songs and dance very much. This was why I decided to design my own version of the musical’s poster for my school's art project.

My poster was originally inspired by Haitian art, but I give it a cut-out paper look to make it more cheerful and childish (our show was targeted at kids). The tree in the center is my own design of the Haitian ‘Tree of Life’, a popular local metallurgy product. I chose the tree as it symbolizes life, strength, and growth. The branches of the tree also formed a heart silhouette, as love is the main theme of the show. Sitting underneath the tree are the two main characters, the peasant girl Ti Moune and the rich boy Daniel.

I made this poster over a year ago, so now I can see the many mistakes that I made. Still, I remember having a lot of fun creating this; discovering interesting myths, beliefs, and arts of another culture. I truly enjoyed every minute of the process.

This painting is drawing with Chinese ink. It includes a crow and a wolf. And I let the background to be the whole Dark. I draw it at night. It's like a scream in my heart. Night always let me thinking, give me inspiration. The crow and wolf see the same direction and seems shouting. Liking the lonely and muse come from the heart. I hope everybody enjoy this painting.

I took this picture when I was waiting for my friends,and that time ,I stood on the fifth floor, looking down through the railings.Suddenly I thought that the real world was far away from me.

I came to SG four mouth ago,in this period of time,I had a lot of issues,but the biggest problem is feel lonely.

While for achieve my dream,I have to overcome these problems.

I was thinking,the real life actually is to do my favorite things with all my heart,has no quarrel,not necessary fighting between what you do and you must do.

Therefore the life is a comprehensive process,among the life,we would have great pleasure.

I must depend upon none on the psychological and in any environment.I must be quiet inside,this is a state that comes from inner strength and inner peace,and not from apathy and indifference.I could really love what I do ,also have true life.

The Fallen Angel
This is a photograph I took a few weeks ago. The model in this picture is my sister. I name this photograph "The Fallen Angel" because of the wings and the model's sad expression. To me, my sister is like an angel who supports me whenever I feel weak.
